OK Future of VR?
This is an area I am very interested in. With the push from Mark Zuckerbergs Meta, Hololens, and I suspect Amazon and Google will be already developing this. I mean how about an Amazon virtual store? This is coming and you should at least keep an eye on it (get it? GROAN!).
The major problem with VR has been sickness (as eyes see movement inner ear does not detect it!). The second is having half a toaster rammed in your face which for some can be sweaty and painful on the forehead it certainly hurts my forehead. So to succeed these issues have to be overcome. Size (as this video shows) reduction is under development. I am still not sure if VR will be as successful and AR. Augmented Reality can be worn and used in real time. Like walking down the street and having a HUD send info. This is attractive to advertisers… imagine walking down the street and a store has a special offer you may want to take advantage of. Slippers 50% off here (we know you were searching for them earlier online). This store here has them! And that is why it could potentially have more value.
Gaming seems to still be better if you are seated. Racing Sims for example. As your body is static in a car anyway and you can pick up cheap rigs that will move and lean with the car. Walking however is a real barrier not only in price but space! To afford a walking device as this video shows is still out of the reach of most. Ready Player One is still a long way off but we have to start somewhere!
Have fun and happy Days!
